The summer I lived in Morocco left me permanently stuck on souk aesthetics. Since then I've been dragging my collection of Berber rugs, candle sticks, pouf pillows and Moroccan stoneware to every new apartment and outdoor dinner party. These new hanging lanterns from @namastaywildandfree are the latest drool-worthy addition! I have them hanging with ivy plants above my bed, and I put in tea lights, spin the chain, and watch the lanterns throw flickering light around the walls.
Last night’s adventure reminded me that I am not properly equipped for winter camping, and that I really should expand my knowledge of wildlife paw prints.🤔🤭 The stars on the other hand reassured me that coming here was a good thing.🤗✨
Gazing towards our goal - Gran Paradiso. This was one of ours preparation tours for Peru. The conditions weren't as we expected them to be, so a two hour climb up the northwest face turned into an eight hour suffering under constant falling bits of ice.
But at the end it was a great experience, from which I came stronger.
A massive post for a massive year. Of transience, change, and charging forward with authenticity; of unbecoming what I am not so as to become what I am. ⠀
I have written more for this year-in-review than I have for others in the past. There are parts of this post that are more raw, more real, more true. I have allowed myself to be more vulnerable than before, and I hope some of it resonates with you. ⠀

Trying so hard not to fall on my (frozen) face during this morning's -24ºC Christmas Day skate. Happy holidays & merry everything from where it takes an extra 20 minutes to put everything you own on your body before leaving the house.
Dreaming about winter camping, and missing my many adventure buddies who have moved away, returned to their home countries, or are currently travelling. Also, can someone teach me how to chop firewood properly please and thank you?
Just me, in my hand-me-down mustard @arcteryx jacket, in my favourite place, doing my favourite thing.
It’s funny how people come and go in our lives, but even if they don’t stick around, they show us new things and places to fall in love with long after they’re gone.
Skiing is that thing for me, and I’ve decided to keep going in that direction.
In January I’ll be taking my AST-1 (avalanche safety) course so I can venture further into this place that I love.
It’s an investment (and a costly one at that), but it makes me damn happy and that in itself is worth every penny 🎿
Winter is quickly approaching and we couldn’t be more excited (we may or may not have started playing Christmas music back in November)!
