I’m ready to play
Metaphorically speaking in that great baseball diamond called “Life” the reality is that I am exhausted. Everyday it seems like there’s some new challenge or trauma or dilemma. I call “time out” God, let’s play fair. I need a breather here. But thank you for my special rock who knows my strength and pushes me up to bat. I promise you I’m gonna knock this outta the park or at least I can picture myself slaying it with a baseball bat in my hands. ⚾️ ✌🏻
The Coot (Fulica atra) are small water birds that are members of the rail family. Unlike most members of the rail family they are usually easy to see, swimming in open water. Coots have strong legs and can walk and run very well. The Coot is a common species in Europe and North America.
It leans into its center, this farmhouse that’s siding is now vines. I could see the slats that held the plaster walls. How did they hold on when the siding didn’t? The house sits in a field, surrounded by shallow ponds filled with spring peepers joyously singing their mating song.
