Mission - Father son hog hunt was a complete success! We battled the storm early in the morning with our guide Luke, who new this area like the back of his hand. Through the wind and rain he spotted some hogs bedded together in the wide open. I couldn't find them in the binos to save my life! So Luke got us into position at 100 yards, I went prone and laid in fresh cow crap while my dad was on the sticks. I shot first and stoned the biggest pig of the bunch while my dad made the shot of the day, a quartering away shot at 150 yards! It went ass over tea kettle down the hill. It was awesome! This hunt will go down in the books as one of the best birthday present a mountain man could ask for! #fathersonhunt#guidedlife#causeweremountainmen#biggestboaroftheyear#fighter#olonetusk#redheads#meateaters#shitknees#kifarulife#alaskaguidecreations
Clearing out the office. There's nothing huge in there but I'm thankful for the success that I've had. Each one has it's own unique story of how it was acquired. Some were shared with friends and family, some were taken while solo. Hopefully Colorado will be as kind to me as New Mexico has.
Here’s my optics system if you’re interested... Vortex viper 80 mm spotter, Manfrotto 190 x with 128RC panhead. Vortex ranger 1000, Vortex diamondback 10 x 42’s, phoneskope & shutter button with adapters for the spotter and bino’s.And you gotta have a glassing pad! Mine is just a section of an old z lite pad. You might think you’re too tough for a butt pad, but they’re well worth it, not only is it comfortable but it insulates you from the cold ground. I’ll say it’s not the lightest system or the best by far but it’s somewhat affordable. I got most of this stuff on sale. My binos are my weakest link and hopefully I can upgrade them this year. My old vortex bino adapter doesn’t work with this tripod so if anybody has any suggestions, let me know! The tripod is solid with a heavy spotter, not the best for photography but it can get the job done. #optics#vortexoptics#alaskaguidecreations#spottingscope#phoneskope#manfrotto#huntinggear#fhfgear
They say, when your hot your HOT🔥 Two years later Troy came back to Oregon with the 28 Nosler and let her BARK again! We climbed up high at sunrise and got in position to let the glass do the work. Overlooking a piece of our property from a far distance I spotted a dark rock with an elk like head...yup that's an elk, let's go! Four hours later we made our approach, got the wind right and harvested a beauty of an animal.
I'm proud to have built up a list of repeat hunters that want to hunt with me at such a young age, blows my mind, so thank you again. I'm looking forward to what the future holds! #guidelife#causeimamountainman#customerservice#freddietakesallmyphotos#easypackout#kifarulife#alaskaguidecreations#sitka#cabelas#nosler28
