We... Are... Taking... Things... Sloooooooooow... This is a cool washing machine I created with @teenie29 almost a year ago called spintronics!! It's not that complicated, but it got cool elements that make it a lot of fun and switch side automatically. It's got base toes in reverse bird tic tocs and base toes out free reverse bird tic tocs. I also love the reach across before the roll through straddle bat to vache. I showed it to @holly_go_lightly_ and she loves it too and says it makes her feel like she's floating in the air! Here we recorded one iteration of it and slowed it to half speed. It is kinda mesmerizing! Maybe should do more slow motion stuff!

But for real, these are great drills to build strength for a #presshandstand and core/upper body strength in general. If you’re not ready to disconnect from the ball, start by holding a plank with your shins on the ball. From there, lift through your core and open your shoulders to allow your hips to stack. See what happens from there! 💪🤸🏼♀️ the last drill is a great shoulder opener and a good way to work on your #hollowbackhandstand

The truth is I learned that yoga is a balance of strong & soft moments. The strong moments make you feel powerful but the soft moments help you to nourish your mind, body, and soul. When I finally let the soft moments enter my yoga practice - I realized that yoga is truly about both. I work hard everyday to advance my practice, but I learned that doesn’t just mean physically. It means staying present in savasana, showing up on my mat, or using a block when I can’t go into a pose without losing good form. Ultimately it means understanding that your practice is different from anyone else’s and to celebrate the strong & soft moments on and off your mat.

Pose of the week is a Seated Spinal Twist with legs in Cow Face Pose; Gomukhasana in Sanskrit. Start this pose in Easy Seated/ Sukhasana, then bring one leg over the other; if the knees could stack - great, if not, no worries simply move the feet forward (easier version), or bring the heels closer to the hips, only if the flexibility allows. Once seated, firmly start twisting from the waist upwards into one direction, using the hands to deepen the twist (neck and head last to twist, focus on twisting through the torso and oblique muscles). Take a few mindful breaths on the first side, then come back to center switching legs, then twisting in the other direction, again holding the pose for several breaths. Enjoy the sense of calm and rejuvenation in mind and body.
