Returning from the most wonderful weekend @youcanmakeitycmi which was full of unexpected but completely delightful surprises. Over 100 delegates from 22 countries. Said hello to people I feel I know but had never actually met - how fantastic to meet you at last! Presented with beautiful pink bubbly and chocs - just for being me, I think! Honoured to speak about teaching creative skills and super chuffed by very positive comments and so much interest in my subject. Truly amazed to hear my book described as 'inspirational' by people I've never met. And lastly have come away with so many new ideas, new friends... and a rather fabulous prize that I can't wait to open when I get home!
Opened the sketch book on this sunny Sunday afternoon, and designs of wild Northern animals are flooding the pages. Fingers crossed that there will be some keepers among these sketches to bring to life in sterling silver.🤞🏻

Day 18 #MarchMeetTheMaker - Inspiration!
I get inspiration for a lot of places, but here are just a few of mine!
I love deeper color palettes like this one! I don't just stick in these colors by any means, but these are some of my more popular ones, especially that green! Nature is overflowing with inspiration, all the way down to my business's name! 😄
Nymph In The Woods actually came from the same location as two of these nature photos - Ledges State Park! It's my favorite place to go and get inspiration, plus just to feel rejuvenated.
And of course, other artists! While I definitely don't copy, its amazing how seeing others work can help you to think outside the box, learn new techniques and to just push yourself. These two ladies shown here have been such an inspiration to me and have helped me to grow so much!
Where do you get your inspiration from?
Day 18 of #marchmeetthemaker is Inspiration. A good friend of mine taught me how to find this Ursa Minor constellation in the night sky. I’m inspired by lots of things like music, nature and books but I’d say my biggest inspirations are my friends and the people around me.
Thanks again @kerriecurzon, looking forward to stargazing with you again in the summer! 🌌
One of you suggest to make this origami pillow using similar color shades. I want to give a try using light pink and white...what do you think? Any other color suggestions?🤔
The tutorial and sewing pattern are available on my shop ⠀
Back from #nceca#nceca2018 and I think my head might explode. What an incredible conference and experience. 🖤🏺🖤 Check out my stories to see just a smidgen of what it had to offer. Side note... Pittsburgh was Awesome!!!
It's no secret that my Soft Moka designs are inspired by books, especially botanical and natural science books 📚
This one is about animal dialects by Wolfgang Wickler (translated in Italian from German for Bollati Boringhieri). Very helpful when writing a dissertation on vocal learning 🐤
Where do you find your inspiration?

FINAL SALE NOTICE ⏰ This is the last day that my Moody Blue magnetic bookmarks are 30% off (€2.10 for the small ones and €2.80 for the biggies) at etsy.com/shop/SoftMoka ✨
The cardigan is all finished 😍.
This was meant to be a quick pallet cleanser to help me find my crojo again but it ended up taking a little longer than planned and all I can see are things I want to change 😂 but the tiny human likes it and hasn’t taken it off so that’s a win in my book...
Muslin swaddle blankets currently available at Livintage. Shown are blankets with vintage heirloom trim, mini Pom Pom trim, and no trim. I love the look of the aged muslin, and it’ll get softer wash after wash. 🤗
31/52 | Anti - marriage
To say I never wanted to get married is an understatement. I really never thought about it and if I did, I just rejected it instantly. I didn't (don’t) see the point. If you're dedicated to someone, why does it need to be a legal matter? Cost money and warrant a party? I just don't get it. For me, I married Mark in so many other ways before we legally were married; when we adopted our cat, brought our first home together, became each others “in case of emergency” contacts, spent Christmas together, looked after one another when ill… there are a thousand ways to be together and marriage was not one I (need) needed. But, in 2016, I did get married. My views remain the same (and I am forever thankful that I was never proposed to because the thought makes me want to vomit) but along the course of our 8 year non-married relationship, I realised that being married meant so much more to Mark than not being married meant to me. We found our own way to do it and it's not as horrible as I thought it might be…. Although I do wonder when I'll get used to my new last name, being a “Mrs” and saying the word husband! -
so excited to announce I’ll be traveling to Austin TX in just a few short weeks. please please send me all your recommendations of where to eat and what to see. this is my first big-solo-far-away trip and I don’t even think I can handle the magic of it all ✨ (photo @folkfibers)

S is for Sundays... 💗And for sewing, which I will be doing a LOT of today. 😳You may have seen this floral monogram letter in my stories last week, which I made for a baby shower ~ It was so super easy to put together and a really nice break from sewing! I don’t often have the free time to work on creative projects that aren’t Lassie Girl related, so it was good to stop down and take a little time to do something fun! ☺️Happy Sunday friends! || ps ~ half of the Easter orders shipped last week and the rest will ship within the next few days so keep an eye on your 📪! 😉
Sunday crafting at its finest! Don't forget to grab a few extra plastic eggs at that egg hunt or trip to Target this weekend and turn the bottoms into these simple succulent planters. Details are in the blog archives under Holidays->Easter.
I gotta say these Pac-Man ghosts might be my favorite stitch markers 🤔 The donut hole lines up perfectly to make them look perpetually surprised 😮 I’ve got 9 of them rts (plus PacMan 👍🏻) #HappilyYarnAfter

NEW SEASON, NEW JOURNAL
We are encouraging you each season to try out a new journal to help push your creativity into new territory. For the season of Play we would love to see you use an altered book. This is simply a book that you repurpose into an art journal. Take this idea and run with it! Be experimental and playful with what book you choose and how you choose to use. We would encourage you to let your imagination guide you as you create your book, but if you need some more direction check out the Get Messy archives for tips on altering a book. The new season starts in less than 2 weeks! So if you’re joining us be sure to start thinking about what journal you will use! Join us via link in profile. #getmessyartjournal#gmseasonofplay ❤️ @laurenlikesblog
