Last night here in Kentucky, and it’s a cold one. Really not looking forward to the drive back, but hell it was worth it. I had a lot of great training sessions, chicken, rice, english muffins, turkey bacon, and probably my last taste of pizza until after my next show. Second set on 5x5 weighted pull ups. The key to pull ups is depressing your shoulder blades to utilize the larger muscles in your back and then finish the pull with the biceps. Using only the arms will result in a weaker pull! Also, make sure to train using a full range of motion letting yourself hang before pulling up. I recently found some @rxbar s that I haven't seen in stores before, so of course I had to get them! This flavor  might be my new favorite. It reminds me a little bit of the Quest Nutrition chocolate chip cookie dough bar, which is also one of my favorite bars (big surprise lol). This bar was perfectly chewy, not overwhelmingly sweet, and had LOTS of delicious chocolate chunks throughout. I love these bars because other protein bars often make my stomach feel not great 🤢 and I love that Rx Bars are filled with real ingredients. 9/10 for chocolate chip! 🍫❤

FIVE MINUTE TRANSFORMATION ⬆️ Comparison can be the thief of joy. I’ve seen these kind of posts on IG, and thought I would do one myself.  Both are me, taken minutes from another. Just different angling, and adjusting my clothes a little. Posing can make a huge difference. It’s normal to post photos that we like or flatter our bodies the best. So try not to pick apart your “worst” photo compared to your “better” one, or beat yourself up comparing yourself to someone else (also watch out for people posting fake “transformations” to sell you something). Made a goal to try and hit 125kg on C&J today. Ended up hitting it and felt good so went up a little bit and somehow was able to hit 128kg/282lbs pretty decent on too!

Focus squeezing your shoulder blades back AND downward towards you glutes/back pockets. Hold the squeeze at this point. 
If you’re new to working out, this is a great way to get the correct muscle to know when to “fire”, after you’ve done this enough (generally 4-6 weeks) your muscles should understand when to “flex”. If you aren’t new to exercise this is a great way to change things up and maybe break out of a plateau.
