After a 5am start on a Sunday morning and running in ice cold winds - the Thorpe Park half marathon is done 👊🏻 with a time of 2 hours and 2 minutes I’m well on my way to completing the London marathon in just 8 weeks time! 😳 (aaaaah im so scared!) I’m also half way to my fundraising target and it would mean the world to me if you could donate anything at all - big or small. The link to my fundraising page is in my bio 😘🏃🏼♀️now time for some serious napping! 😴 #thorpehalf#halfmarathon#marathontraining#virginmoneylondonmarathon2018#beateatingdisorders
I do enjoy a then vs now photo comparison! Just a few years ago I weighed 15 stone, which even for my height was a lot heavier than I am now. I also had a terrible side fringe in this photo.
It is now LESS than 2 months until I take on the biggest challenge of my life and run the London Marathon. I don't want to sound overdramatic but this really is going to be the craziest thing I've ever done and it would mean the world if my friends and family could sponsor me. I have 2 more months of training and some pretty horrible distances coming up in the next few weeks, including a 20 mile race on 11th March.
If you knew me a few years ago and hadn't seen or spoke to me until now then you'd never believe I was doing this. I mean, I still can't now. If I'm going to do this, then I want to raise as much as I possibly can for my charity. I'll only do this the once and then I'll never ask for your money again 😁
I applied for the London Marathon a month before the 2017 marathon and at the time only 10% of me thought I'd even attempt this. But it's almost a year later and I'm going to do it. I've organised 2 pub quizzes, 3 bake sales, 2 bootfairs and 1 music gig. I'm still doing as much as I can to raise the money but ultimately I need the support of my family and friends. So this is my plee!
If you can spare just a few pounds then please do. If you can only do a bit now and want to do a bit more in a few weeks then please do. All the money goes straight to #ArthritisCareAndResearch . They cash it in immediately when a donation is received, not after the marathon, so the earlier they get this the more beneficial it is for them.
Please support me with this. Every donation gives me the 'get up and go' that I need to go out for those 3 and a half hour runs! It means the world to have received the support that I have received so far. Big love and big thanks ❤

Yesterday’s track session: • 8 x 1000m (600m recoveries in 3 mins)
• Average per KM: 3:13.75
First use of track this winter. Up until now, I’ve done hard effort rep sessions measured in time alone (e.g. 4 x 5 mins) so using the track is a great way to accurately calibrate my fitness level, aiming for consistent rep times.
Conclusions? My aerobic fitness is much further along than my leg speed. Fading slightly in last couple of reps certainly not helped by fatigue (having stepping up the mileage in the last week and racing hard Saturday).
On the plus side, it is the first Tuesday session in a while. #keeponkeepingon —
What are you hoping to get out of your next workout?
Thanks @therunningmedic for the 📸!
