During the months I was in #venicebeach I did a good job of making sure to document my experience and I got pictures of almost all of my friends. One person I never managed to photograph is my friend Katie. On the beach everyone calls Katie "K-Love". I have a lot of love for this girl. For a while I had a huge crush on her, obviously, I still care for her. I'm fascinated by her. She's quiet, she's smart, complex, and affectionate. I felt drawn to her and wanted to know her as much as she would let me. I think the reason I never got a picture of her is because I like her so much. I ended up learning a lot of her story and became pretty close with her over those months. Because I didn't have any photos of her, the way I made this piece of art was pretty random and interesting. I found a random video buried on my phone and noticed her in the background, took a screenshot and then edited it into a comic book rendering. After that, I went to town collaging and blending and blending.. and blending.. to make it look like more than just a grainy picture. I made this collage to serve as a vision board and to focus positive energy and manifestation for Katie. It's intended as a blessing and offering, honoring the ascended masters I'm calling upon to help guide and heal her and protect her when I'm gone. In the picture I incorporated everything from Masonic images representing to me, my own inner magic (not all Mason's are evil, my grampa was one) and I also cropped in a psychedelic wolf spirit animal, my totem.. There's multiple Buddha's and monks and lotuses of course.. and there's even dmt energy beings in the bottom left corner and an Ayahuasca snake wrapping itself around her. All of these images are supposed to represent different powerful spiritual lessons and mystical experiences I have had that have moved me and helped me become who I am. From reading the teachings of Buddha multiple times to smoking dmt during a solar eclipse totality I've been moved and felt healed from these things and I made this image to invoke happiness and abundance for Katie because I believe she deserves it.

Venice Beach, Summer 2013. I was a new resident to LA, & had enrolled at Musicians Institute in Hollywood. I was living out of my car by day and on a friends couch by night. The couch was only good for a few weeks, until I could find my own place. I didn't have a job and spent all my savings on school fees. I was penniless. ✏️
I remember things got so rough that I considered selling my beautiful Taylor acoustic guitar for some extra cash. Yet I remember my dad told me once, "no matter how bad things get in your life, never sell your livelihood." As his words echoed in my atmosphere I got the revelation of what he meant. Never give up the thing that could be your saving grace. Use it to get you out of the situation. ✏️
So I mustered up some courage and took the bus from DTLA every morning to Venice beach and began busking on the street. I'd sing and play to a crowded board walk sometimes for 10 hours straight. My fingers bled because I couldn't afford to buy a pack of guitar picks, so I'd play using the quarters people would throw into my case! Sometimes I wouldn't eat for days, but I kept my head high and my trust in the most high, knowing that my situation was temporary. I was going to make something out of this music thing! Period. No matter what. Sure I got offers to sell out, compromise, or lay on my back for a meal ticket (if you catch my flow). But Hell no! I never lowered myself to take the easy route & never will. ✏️
Purpose will drive you to accomplish the unreasonable, & the impossible. If you're that passionate about what you desire to do, you'll never give yourself an excuse or a way out. I've never regretted my decision to pursue my passion even through all the adversities. If you're not doing what you love & inspiring others along the way, then what are you doing? Live to give, live for more, live as Love and don't forget to be strong and have the heart of the Lion - LXI9
