The purpose of this video is to show the early vertical forearm throughout the freestyle propulsive phase.
At the front of the stroke, the elbow remains high in the water, whilst the fingers drop to the pool floor. This will put the swimmer in a strong pulling position to set up an effective propulsive phase. The aim being to catch the water in front and pull straight back, avoiding the ‘S’ shaped pull we were taught through Learn To Swim.
Pay close attention to angle of the palm/wrist/forearm.
My night at the museum was an evening of horror—plastic pollution, coral bleaching, and overfishing. Stephen King’s IT has nothing on the film I saw there. Follow the link in my bio to read my thoughts on @bluethefilm2017
