Retired BEC lineman Lloyd Cash helps extinguish a fire from the co-op's first bucket truck at the old motel at the Midway exit in the late 1970s. The Columbia Fire Dept. called BEC crews to shut off the power. Since the Fire Dept. did not yet have aerial equipment, they turned to Cash and Kenneth Rapp to assist. Rapp is controlling the boom from the back of the truck.
