NAPA PERTH COMPLETO!
I can't believe our little man has completed 45 hours of therapy in 15 days. What a machine. I would have pulled out a long time ago...sorry you didn't have this opportunity buddy but you continued to find strength & power to complete each session to your fullest potential. I'm truly in awe & so so proud of you our little man!
During our first NAPA experience Cooper has improved his weight baring in his arms, increased his trunk & core strength, learnt to control his arching/extending a lot more & has improved the intake of his fluids & solids.
Thank you so much Lynette, Bryan & @napacenter for coming to Perth. Thank you to our 3 beautiful therapists @mik.fksmi , Lauren & @ali_gebhardt1 for your patience, genuine love of your jobs & the kids that you work with. You have made such a huge impact on Cooper's quality of life & we are truly touched & forever grateful.
Also a huge thank you to my Mum & our dear friends who have supported our family these past 3 weeks by looking after Jaz, dropping meals, spoiling me with mummy shakes & coffees, & physically coming in & cheering Cooper on during his therapy.
Also another huge thank you to our wonderful friend @renaegoosen for starting Cooper's GoFundMe page to raise the funds to attend NAPA. Your ongoing love & support never goes unnoticed & we all love you dearly x
Last but not least, to each & every one of you...strangers, friends & families...Thank you for all your donations which has allowed this to happen. Our hearts are filled with love & gratitude at your kindness & generosity. We are excited for what the future holds & look forward to booking our next NAPA intensive xox
Here's a sneak peek of one of Usborne's most popular Slide and See books! This book would be perfect for your early intervention toolbox or would make a great gift for the curious toddler in your life💛🐢
You can get the Slide to See series from my Usborne shop! http://e7294.myubam.com/
Finally, using those conversation stems from @cootiesandcuties and they work really really well to get student discussions started. I was actually surprised how much the kiddos looked to the stems to take their conversational turn. “I agree with ________ and I’d like to add _______________________________” has been my fave to hear 🤓 #blackhistorymonth#martinlutherking
What are you making/creating/writing or generally putting out into the world? I used to think the opposite of criticism was praise.
I now think the opposite of criticism is creation. When we criticize, we sit on the sidelines and comment on what others have made.
When we create (a business, a book, a podcast, a blog, a piece of music, and more) we make something new. We put ourselves out there and open ourselves up to criticism. But we also put our voices out into the world anyways, because we believe in something.
Before you criticize, create. The world needs what we all have to give.
Working on side biting and lateral tongue movement. He is getting some good chewing practice and some biting success from the side gums, but still does rely on his bottom two front teeth to bite through harder or bigger pieces of food. Little man is having a quick snack of #veggiestraws after a 2.5 hr nap😁 🙌
Tobias and I went to soft play first thing today before it gets too busy and had lots of fun! His walking and strength is so great!
He’s been pretending to put lots of food in his mouth today which is great. He saw his Nana this afternoon. I’m still worrying about his speech but probably unnecessarily. He understands and communicates so much even though he doesn’t have many words. Apparently when kids don’t eat their mouth muscles are weaker so they are generally more behind with speech. I just want to help him as much as I can.
Mummy has sciatica from carrying Tobias but fortunately Daddy’s vertigo is better since going to the GP and getting some medication.
Hope you are all having a lovely weekend 💙 .
My goals for today: purge, organize, and clean. I swear we just did this a couple months ago, yet here we are- looking like a house out of hoarders! Anyone else?!
In case you’re wondering, this is definitely not my therapy closet and ABSOLUTELY not my toddler’s playroom! I just have a serious girl crush on @thehomeedit and everything they do! Plus- their instastories are hilarious!
What are you doing today?

This NEW online course reviews ways that dysphagia management, cognitive management, and communication enhancement differ in End of Life care in comparison to other scopes of practice. The course also addresses early decision making and advocacy for patients nearing the end of life and cultural competency when approaching patients with diverse backgrounds.

We’ve started using the fun, Speech Blubs app for morning exercises. Is there anyone who is concerned about their child's speech or visiting speech therapy at the moment?
