Loved this practice from #yogawithadriene today 😍🙏 It means a lot to me that's I've been able to reconnect with my yoga practice lately 😌 When my mind is busy, it's one of the things I need the most, yet it can be so hard to settle down to it and allow myself the space to be calm, to let go, to enjoy existing.
How do you take care of yourself? What reminds you to be patient? What keeps you grounded? 💜
“When you nurture the inside the outside will flourish.” This is one of my favorite quotes from my book The Self-Love Experiment. It’s essential to prioritize self-care and make wellness a daily habit.
@naturemadevitamins Magnesium soft gels have recently become an important part of my daily wellness routine. As time went on I realized that this birthmark has made me unique and everyone is going to remember me by it. My only goal in life is to be remembered and if this birthmark, which I’ve learned to love, is the only thing people recognize me from then I must embrace it and cherish it with all my heart. I love who I am and my insecurities have now become the reason I stand out. I always compare my self to a Dalmatian because I fell in love with their spots just how someone is going to fall in love with mine!
Have you ever tried to hold a beach ball under the water? Yeah, it won’t stay there long. Emotions are like the beach ball, and I’m learning that it’s a useless waste of energy to fight with holding them under (because they will surface anyways). NEW IDEA I’ve been trying (emphasis on the TRYING part) to let my emotions surface, sit with them, and then release them. Holding them under my surface has only resulted in exaggerated problems and shutting off parts of myself.
I dare you to try to sit with your emotions without judging yourself. Angry, joyful, pissed off, excited, whatevah.
Okay, 123 GO.

Finals week blows!! 😂🤷🏻♀️ Okay, just needed to get that off my chest. I feel better.
Someone asked me recently ‘what is your best accomplishment?’ The conversation was about my career but only one thing came to mind: my first half marathon. So not career related, but that time in my life was my favorite! I decided I was going to run a half marathon, even though I had never ran a day in my life. I remember my husband looking at me like I was crazy when I told him. 😂 Ah, good times...
Oh... anyway so, I signed up for a race nine months out, started training, and then I caught the flu, and was out for three weeks. Still, I recovered and started training again, only to sprain my ankle, and be out for another four weeks and...
What, were you expecting a perfect story? Well they never are. I had a plan and it was crumbling. That was reality. But you know what happened? I picked myself up, stopped throwing my personal pitty party, trained my heart out and ran that B, and finished under my goal time. I cried as I ran across that finish line. I was so proud of myself!
Here’s the thing, who gives a crap if you fail or mess up or fall down? Your failure only becomes significant if you do nothing about it! Never let it keep you down! I often have high standards for myself and failure burns. But that memory reminds me that I am stronger than I realize. I fall back on it a lot to get me through my current situation. What’s your memory? Do you have any great stories of failure turned success? If you don’t, get one! Do something that scares you. Surprise yourself. It’s the most rewarding thing ever!

I wanted to share a bit of a personal transformation story with you all:
☆ ☆ ☆
The girl on the left was extremely insecure, struggled constantly with her weight, amd on most days felt as if she had no purpose or place in the world. Whereas the girl on the right is more sure of herself and doesn't stress about her weight because she has discovered the athelticism within and wants to be healthy💚.

The old me hid behind my hair- I was constantly flat ironing (like in the picture) it because I hated my crazy curly hair. Then I eventually chemically straightened it which caused it to seriously break off. I got plenty of compliments for having "good hair," which is actually NOT a compliment and a story for another day. The old me never took my car to car shows for fear of other people teasing me about not knowing as much as them or being too new to the "scene."🚘

Flash forward to now, about 2 years later, and I'm finally starting to believe in myself. Running has boosted my confidence in ways I never knew it could. I no longer care about the number on the scale, but instead I'm focused on how I FEEL and perform. I'm not a slave to the latest get skinny diets, and instead I focus on fueling my body for my runs and workouts. I don't run to get skinny, or lift to just get a bigger butt to fit in. I run because I enjoy it and love feeling fast, and I lift to build strong support muscles to run better, longer, faster. I didn't have to cut my hair to feel betyer about myself, but cutting it forced me to come out of my shell more and be brave. It's almost as if I cut away the cocoon to reveal the butterfly within.🦋 ☆ ☆ ☆
I am enjoying LIVING now, instead of constantly feeling lost, depressed, and angry. I now know my self-worth, and it has drastically improved my personal relationships, my professional life, and my overall well-being💚.

There are still plenty of people who would say the girl on the left is prettier, but I know what was happening on the inside, and it was too ugly for words. I'm so happy with how far I've come. And for once, I am looking forward to what the future holds.
What a privilege it was to see this young lady perform live last night! This is probably the best concert I’ve ever been to. In addition to her incredible voice and meaningful songs, she had some messages to share with us re: forgiveness, mental health, LGBTQ, and deserving to love your life (swipe to listen). She had her fans in tears and the positive energy was felt by everyone. Thank you @ddlovato for being your beautiful self and for using your voice to share such important messages to the world! You have inspired us all!! Xoxoxo #demilovato#tellmeyoulovemetour
