Little me at @ngadc part 2. / would totally wear this outfit today. / that necklace was a little gold paper clip pendant I bought at an antique store - I thought it was cool. I made a lot of those friendship bracelets or traded for them. ✨

#washingtondc#nationalgalleryofart#nationalmuseumofnaturalhistory#smithsonian
We went to the national gallery of art! There were many works lithuania people made. And there were paintings, sculptures, the works we can touch, video. My friends explained about works. So i could understand easily!
One of the first artists I remember learning about as a child was Alexander Calder. We were studying his work in elementary school and I became so interested in his abstract sculptures. The shapes, the color, the size. Soon after, my family took me to see his work at Storm King Art Center (I was lucky enough to grow up around the corner) and it was the first time I had really experienced large scale artwork in person and felt completely overwhelmed by it. This experience was also the first time, as a child, that I had become intrigued with an artist and made a real life connection through their work. Each time I view his work in a museum, it always takes me back to being that little 7 year old in awe of the magnificence of art. It all comes full circle x
Saint George and the Dragon
油畫 oil painting
This is one of two works “St George’s Battle of the Dragon” done by Raphael, depicting a legend about a Roman Knight as a Christian, George. He defeated the evil dragon and saved the pagan princess. The knight in the picture defeated the dragon elegantly. You can see the authentic work in the National Gallery of Art in Washington, D.C.
