Bike Share Toronto is the city’s most efficient and most environmentally friendly way to get around the city. The initiatives promotes active transportation and it is powered by solar energy. There are 270 stations and 2750 bikes that are spread all over the city. Each stations is equipped with solar panels that provide power for the kiosks that process the payments, and the docks where the bikes are parked. The bikes are also equipped with a GPS or Smart Halo directional interfaces located on the handlebars. The interfaces provide turn-by-turn navigation that guide the riders towards the quickest and safest routes.

What got me started with movement exploration and mobility training? Yoga... It was my first step. And although it’s confined to the mat, it’s that confinement that is a part of my personal challenge and struggle. But it was my desire to feel better and move better that led me to Yoga. .
Then yoga pointed out needs that couldn’t be achieved by simply doing Yoga. Understanding flexibility versus mobility was a lesson I began to learn. .
I haven’t done Yoga lately and I’m gonna jump back into classes this week. I’m interested to see how my mobility work impacts my Yoga practice. .

This is a huge mistake made by patients and practitioners!
When is Physiotherapy and rehabilitation complete? When the below questions have been answered, which will allow the patient to return to their desired level of activity and daily function:
1️⃣ What are the patient’s goals?
2️⃣ What is the desired level of function required by the patient to reach their goals?
3️⃣ What is the patient’s pain score and their understanding of what pain is?
4️⃣ Does the patient have mental clarity and readiness to return to the desired level of activity?
5️⃣ Has the patient performed well enough during testing to return to their desired level of function? (at least 90% of the uninjured side or of their baseline)
6️⃣ Has the patient coped with the demands of returning to training?
7️⃣ Has the patient passed return to training and competition testing?

[BSS Series 2/2]
Did you master the Bulgarian split squat in just a day⁉️ Maybe you've been doing the Bulgarian split squat for quite some time now and want to spice things up⁉️Check out this video to learn some Bulgarian split squat variations.
1️⃣ Cross Body Reach ➡️ this variation is the easiest way to increase the demand on the ipsilateral hip abductors
2️⃣ Contralateral Y ➡️ one of our favorite variations to increase the demand on the hip abductors and also promote scapular stability, especially for overhead athletes
3️⃣ Contralateral Suitcase Hold ➡️ if you really want to load up the BSS, this is an easy way to do so
4️⃣ Jump Reps ➡️ generating and absorbing force on one leg should be a prerequisite for every athlete, here is a way to train that
5️⃣ Clean & Press ➡️ for the bold, this variation is an unique way to use the BSS for a power focused exercise
Every variation has a specific reason, your training shouldn't be any different. If willing and able, you should to try all of these variations. However, we encourage you to take a step back and ask yourself why. Why would you add one of these variations to your workout or training program? What is your goal? DM #665 : Been doing some more motivational/life-lesson type DMs recently, so I figured it was time to throw in a PT-related one.
What am I talking about here? Well, as much as it may make us cringe when we hear patients saying that their rib or SI joint is out, or that they blew out a disc, or that they need to get rid of some adhesions in their neck...the fact of the matter is, their rudimentary understanding of things provides them with a sense of hope. Why? Because they think that fixing that thing, will fix them.
Granted, we know that this is quite problematic in and of itself, but swooping in with your pain science cape and telling folks that their understand is completely wrong likely isn’t the best solution either. With their mechanical understanding of things, people at least still believe that they can in fact get better. Any new understanding that we give them must also do the same.
So, while I too am quite averse to that mechanical/biomedical, I’m careful to approach all discussions from a very realistic point of view. It’s not enough to take away the bad. You must replace it with good, or risk finding yourself worse off than when you started. Correct what is wrong when you can, but make sure you ALWAYS leave them with hope.
