Loving Vincent was so sad but an absolute triumph. Cannot believe each frame was an entire oil painting. I NEED to go to the gallery and see them for myself.
Amazing film. Incorporating the actors into Van Gogh's infamous paintings was very clever.
Loving Vincent, looks at the real Van Gogh and the one we want to remember. More than 100 painters contributed to this extraordinary animated film.

RATING: 5+/10 🌕🌕🌗🌑🌑
With an extraordinary technical component, it is in fact a work made entirely of paintings made by a group of over one hundred artists, a film that pays homage to the artist Vincent Van Gogh, to his life, to his death and to his works that enhances through the use of the aforementioned technique that gives movement to works made with the same style of the famous painter.
Very interesting is also the way in which some of the famous paintings of the artist are inserted in the form of backgrounds or characters; as is also the change in styles used, if in fact the main story is designed as the paintings of Van Gogh, the days before his death, however, told in the form of flashback, are represented with a charming style in black and white and extremely realistic.
Much less interesting and appreciable is the way in which these flashbacks are then inserted, too repetitive and similar to a didactic list of events, too slow the development that makes the film not very engaging and also quite boring, it's also satisfactorily explore the figure of the painter who was and is Van Gogh.
The script has several forcing and is generally weak and unconvincing.
A film appreciable only for the purely visual side that, as mentioned, is undoubtedly fascinating and innovative but otherwise it is nothing but a mediocre film that mixes various genres such as drama, animation and Giallo, without however exceeding in none of them and I will soon forget all its elements, except for aesthetics.

A mystery surrounding Van Gogh's suicide. Although the plot sounds interesting, I found the way it was composed exhausting, as it constantly goes back and forth, from the present and back to the past throughout the whole film. However, this is easily one of the most visually stimulating films I've ever seen. The entire movie is painted in his extraordinary style, with 65,000 frames painted from about 125 painters. And they do not play it safe; they painted characters smoking, they painted rain, they painted fight scenes--things that take a lot of effort and talent. It is stunning to see these paintings come to life; it's like you can feel the brush strokes if you touch the screen. I was absolutely mesmerized. The voice cast also delivered good performances, and the music by Clint Mansell very much suited the film. All the characters were based on real-life people who knew Vincent, and it was interesting to see what they all thought of him. And the ultimate reason as to why he might have killed himself...it's heartbreaking. Overall, I find this to be a one-of-a-kind biopic about the failing artist. If you're interested in learning a bit more about Vincent, or if you're looking for visual splendor, take a look at this one. I'm glad the Academy recognized a film like this, as I do think it deserves the praise. #lovingvincent#vincentvangogh#vangogh#impressionism#postimpressionism#starrynight#robertgulaczyk#douglasbooth#jeromeflynn#saoirseronan#helenmccrory#johnsessions#eleanortomlinson#aidanturner#oscars#oscars2018#bestanimatedfeature#film#movies#cinema#filmlover#movielover#instafilm#instacinema#instamovies#filmcritique
Vincent Von Gogh was able to sell just 1 painting out of the 2000+ of his works he made in 9 years of his life he lived as an artist.
"You want to know so much about his death, but what did you know about his Life" ?
Being an artist, my sole responsibility is to bring back the commission culture. And end up the monopoly of people sitting inside 4 walls and making art a dirty business. We deserve just the rightful amount for our skills.
Thank you all for waiting. I am working on "THE ART GIVING PROJECT". Just a few more days and I shall post them all.
Love & Peace 🖤
