I seem healthy but in reality, I did my #2 every 2-3 days for over a decade. Bet you didn't expect me to share that, but it's a common issue worth addressing. I neglected my health for a long time, particularly during my rebellious stage, not realizing what I was doing to myself. Thank God I'm better now, but I admit there's still a lot of unanswered questions, and a whole lot to work on.
I'm about to embark on yet, another detox challenge! This time, with a greater emphasis on gut/digestive/colon/liver healing. According to ample findings, it is said we have 3 brains: our literal brain, heart and our gut. If we can agree that we can't go wrong with our gut instinct, is it even a question whether attention be allotted to the gut?!? Please feel free to reach out to me if you're interested in joining me on this journey for overall health and well-being! Let's get ready to get disciplined! 'Cause I'm ready to find a *lasting* solution this year. Are you? <3
The best way to detox? Daily, without even thinking about it 👌☀️

APPLE CIDER VINEGAR AND
CAYENNE PEPPER mixed in a glass of water. Traditionally 1 TB Of ACV is mixed with water and dashes of cayenne pepper, building up to 1/4 teaspoon, then 1/2, 3/4 and then 1 teaspoon of cayenne over many days. Historically Naturopathic doctors recommend this 3 times per day to break up mucus and hardened mucus - called catarrh - from the system. The Ancient Greeks combined the ACV with 1-3 teaspoons of raw honey in water. It has been used medicinally for over 10,000 years. It was used by the Babylonians, the Samuri’s, and Hippocrates used it as an antibiotic treatment.
Mineral rich organic blackstrap molasses can be added instead of raw honey. This also helps break up calcifications throughout the body over time, including a calcified pineal gland. 🌰
I have used this to break up an ovarian cyst and for flu, bronchitis, circulation, skin glow, increase metabolism, gut health, vein health, detoxification..etc.
It is better if the Apple Cider Vinegar is unpasteurized such as Bragg's brand. *Drink it through a straw to protect teeth from the acid in ACV.*
Of course a proper mucus free diet must be followed for this remedy to be effective. No cleansing remedy can work unless you are consuming the right holistic organic foods, drinks and making the correct holistic lifestyle choices. This is all discussed in my upcoming ebook. 💚😊🌿🌶
Contraindications: Avoid cayenne and spicy foods if you have an ulcer though some use cayenne for ulcer too. 💚😊🌿🌶
NingXia || Honestly, when I first saw this I thought it was totally weird. I anticipated a terrible taste and no real benefits, but I am so happy to report that I was wrong.
Ningxia is a juice blend of primarily the wolfberry (goji berry), an anti-inflammatory berry, great for eye health, skin health, stabilizing glucose levels, detoxing the liver, boosting the immune system and fertility, elevating mood and energy. Its also got things like blueberry, cherry, pomegranate and essential oils. It's FULL of powerful antioxidants and nutrients. Plus, it's seriously addictive-yummy! Like the texture of orange juice but the sweet-tartness of cranberry juice.
Joseph has been sick for a few weeks and can't seem to get over this cough, but he's been drinking this daily for the last 4 days and has finally feeling some breakthrough 🙌🏼
Thanks @amynorvell for giving us some samples!!

It’s National Cabbage Day! According to @medicalmedium, the coloring agents that give red cabbage its red-purple hue are at the top of the heap when it comes to disease-fighting pigments. The sulfur in the cabbage carries phytochemicals from these pigments into the liver with great ease, making red cabbage one of the most rejuvenating foods for the liver. In fact, red cabbage can help retard and reverse scar tissue in the liver.
A spiritual lesson from “Life Changing Foods,” is that cabbage (and it’s cruciferous cousins) teach us to make room for patience and thankfulness in our lives, for ourselves and others.
Before you accuse me of posting the second most yawn-worthy photo subject (after avo on toast) I’d like to give the humble chicory root five seconds in the spotlight. A lifesaver for coffee whores taking a hiatus from the acidity of regular coffee, this prebiotic hero is best served Gordita style, with a good glug of full fat coconut milk and a sprinkle of cinnamon. A known liver support (chicory is from the dandelion family and a great liver detoxificant) and a win for those who can’t handle the ‘frazzle’ that caffeine gives you. Oh, and it even makes your hair grow faster. Just kidding. #coffeelover#detox#caffeinefree#guthealth#liverhealth#vegan
Let's talk about black seed oil! Made from nigella seeds, sometimes called black cumin or kalonji, it used as a flavourful spice in many cuisines – particularly throughout the Middle East. Black seed is widely feted for its medicinal properties which can be traced back hundreds of years. The ones listed here are just some of those which are commonly mentioned and backed by scientific evidence. Our aromatic Black Seed Oil is available in two different strengths: Standard Strength and High Strength. The difference lies in the volatile oil content – while Standard contains 2% volatile oil, the High Strength version contains 4.3%. Much of the pharmacological value of Black Seed Oil is credited to the compound-rich volatile oil component. (The percentage of volatile oil depends on where the seed is grown and also the hybrid of seed used.) Each of our Black Seed Oils contains 100% pure virgin quality cold-pressed Black Seed Oil and absolutely no additives. How do you consume? That's easy! You can take BSO right off the spoon, incorporate it in a salad dressing or dip, add it to a smoothie or utilise it as a head or chest rub. Grab yours today with free postage; the link's in our bio.

Blessed to have my mother and father in law have our four children for the day so I can rest .
Iv been in bed all day with what I’m feeling like is the flu and thought a good magnesium bath, nerdy book, PB toast and a green smoothie might help .
Now you know I’m now sitting in the bath typing this up, eating that toast and thinking shhhooot it’s sooo hot, sweating it out! This weather is way to hot for a bath and the toast was definitely so not what I felt like eating the green smoothie on the other hand is #amazing .
Has anyone read this antique book on liver health 🤓❤️🤓.
Bet it says I shouldn’t eat PB toast while sitting in a #magnesium bath😂 .

Are you tired? Because it’s the end of a long week, or because you didn’t get enough sleep?
Do you wake up in the middle of the night? Consistently? .
Have hormonal imbalances? .
Dark circles under your eyes?
These can all be signs that your liver is overloaded. It’s one of our major detoxifying organs and it can handle A LOT!
But sometimes the food we eat, the things we put on our skin and around our bodies (intentionally and unintentionally) can overload the system.
Think of your body’s natural detoxifying system like a bucket that catches and cleans out all the toxins.
If the bucket overflows, you’ll see many symptoms including weight gain among 👆🏻👆🏻 and need to show your liver a little love ❤️ Thankfully, providing liver support can be easier than it sounds. It’s like changing your filters!
DM me for more what you can do to reduce your body burden and finally find relief! 🙌🏻
FREE BOX OF PUKKA TEA!
You should all be aware that many popular tea brands use polypropylene to keep their tea bags from falling apart. Not only are you exposed to plastic in your beverage, but you are also adding plastic to the environment even if you compost your used bags.
Solution? Choose a brand that doesn't use plastic.
Our favorite is Pukka Herbs, an organic fair herbal tea company founded in 2001. Rather than using plastic, Pukka bags are stitched using a certified organic cotton string. Awesome company....check them out at www.pukkaherbs.com.
In order to raise awareness of this issue and celebrate companies like Pukka, we are giving away a free box of Pukka tea ($7 value!) with every purchase of $40 or more on our Happy Bodies website (all brands other than Happy Bodies count toward the purchase requirement). No coupon or code required. Just go to www.happybodies.com, purchase $40 or more of non-Happy Bodies products, add a Pukka tea item to your cart and you will receive it at no charge. 19 flavors to choose from! Good through 2/25. Limit 1 free item per customer.
Continuing on with liver week 😂 Without question, the health of any person is largely dependent on the state of their liver. Looking after someones liver function is absolutely vital when treating holistically. There’s a few basic physical assessment tools we can use as practitioners to detect whether we need to delve further into the health of someones liver - and that’s a yellow tongue or eyes, the presence of dark circles under the eyes or bad breath. These are not diagnostic, but merely tools we can use to prompt further investigation. The presence of fatigue, headaches, migraines, debilitating menstrual pain, nausea, fat intolerance, blood sugar problems, constipation and skin conditions (acne and eczema mostly) are also huge signs that the liver needs to be looked at. Just to touch quickly on premenstrual syndrome, it is linked to the improper break down of hormones by the liver and therefore causing unwanted excesses that the body should otherwise have been able to regulate. Other conditions traditionally associated with liver dysfunction are immune insufficiency, arthritis, autoimmune disorders and chronic fatigue. As a nutritionist, it’s not just my role to relieve someone of their symptoms relating to liver dysfunction (whether that be an inability to break down foods, skin conditions, migraines, PMS etc), but to restore the innate healing mechanisms of the liver and return it to optimal function.
So true. We can have acne for a variety of reasons, especially hormonal. We also have more now because of stress (major culprit), hidden hormones (e.g. poor quality meat, milk), blood sugar issues (drive up cortisol, our stress hormone), digestive issues, and hormonal issues. Avoid touching your skin & using scrubs, and consider also going through your beauty cabinet to aim for chemical free (e.g. gluten free, vegan, no preservatives) makeup. Skin is also a reflection of what's going on inside, so great to consider increasing water intake, dark green leafy's, and healthy fats- all help balance hormones too!
"Mom? I'm hungry!" Yes, there is nothing quite like (low-carb) pizza on a week night. Even if it is a rectangular shape (because your on the road and not at home) 😉 Just cheese pizza for my (picky eater) son. We've had to go low carb/keto for him because of his liver health and because of his high risk of diabetes. Since I was doing #keto for my cancer maintenance treatment anyway, his doctor said, "he should be doing what you're doing." We made a concerted effort as a family to all eat low carb/keto thereafter. He is doing very well since going very low carb. His doctor was very impressed after all his markers returned to normal range after just three months on our diet! But, as a Mama, I always try to make #yummy low-carb versions of his favorite foods. He loves them 😊👏🏾👍🏽 #keto#lowcarb#ketogenicdiet#lchf#diabetes#liverhealth#triglicerides#cancer#multiplemyeloma#ketofam#ketocommunity#pizza#healthypizza#yesyoucaneatpizza#mama

Back to basics!! If I had to choose only one change to start with for a healthier day, I would suggest morning lemon water. It could be warm or it can be room temperature. It can be plain or you can mix in other add-ins like apple cider vinegar.
I have had clients who weren’t willing to make many changes. This one daily upgrade alone got rid of constipation and a skin issue for one client.
If you are new to a whole foods holistic lifestyle and feel overwhelmed with where to start, try this simple tip out first.
On a hydration note, this is a great way to start the day. This is also a good way to slowly wake up your digestion and support liver health. You can follow general guidelines for staying hydrated, but I don’t believe you need to force a certain amount of water every day. Our bodies are actually very good at regulating how much water we need by how thirsty we are. You also get a lot of water from our food that you may not be considering. Don’t get me wrong, hydration is very important, But I just don’t see any need to chug a certain amount of water at the end of the day if you haven’t hit your “quota”.
16oz of celery juice on an empty stomach 🌱 “Celery strengthens hydrochloric acid in the gut and helps the liver produce bile to break down food. It provides mineral salts that are anti-EBV and help support the central nervous system with powerful electrolytes while they stabilize and support the adrenal glands. Celery has the ability to cleanse the thyroid of EBV toxins. It also bolsters the production of the thyroid hormone T3.” -Thyroid Healing, Anthony William.
Drinking 16oz of celery juice each morning on an empty stomach is one of the best ways to alkalize your gut. It repairs intestinal lining which has been damaged by years of eating unproductive foods, toxic byproducts of viruses & bacteria, heavy metals, and chemical laden processed foods. Since a giant part of your immune system is in your gut, making sure it’s in tip top shape is crucial to your health.
Celery restores hydrochloric acid levels in your stomach so that digestion can happen properly and efficiently. Do you suffer from heartburn? That’s because you actually don’t have ENOUGH acid in your stomach and food sits around and becomes putrified.
Celery juice also:
🌱improves kidney function
🌱restores adrenal glands
🌱supports neuron function
🌱helps get rid of brain fog
🌱hydrates your cells
🌱helps prevent migraines
🌱repairs your DNA
The benefits don’t end there either. Anthony William calls it “one of the greatest healing tonics of all time”, and clearly he’s right. With all of the beautiful assistance it brings to your body, there’s no reason not to add this to your morning routine if you’re trying to heal or maintain health!
You can make celery juice with a juicer or blender. If you blend the celery, you’ll need a cheesecloth or other way to sift out the pulp so that you only have juice left over. In its liquid juice form, it doesn’t require your system to do much work to digest and therefore increases your healing benefit :) Cheers! Happy Thursday! 🌱
