Meat Day courtesy of @exelbyfoods plenty here to keep my family going for the month, and all Syn Free (apart from the 0.5syn Sausages) I’m going to get myself in the kitchen today! If it’s good enough for the super league, it’s good enough for me #leanmeat#slimmingworlduk#supportlocal
In honor of Feb being Heart Health Month, I put a healthy snack idea together.
Sweet and Spicy Bison Jerky Trail Mix
3/4 of a 3 oz bag of Spicy Bison Jerky
1/3 cup raw walnuts (chopped)
1/4 dark chocolate chips
Mix, super easy!
Here are the reasons I chose these ingredients for Heart Month:
Bison-: is healthier than regular beef. It is lower in saturated fat, it's a great source of nutrients, it has the basics: zinc, niacin, iron, vitamin B6, selenium, high in protein content, and high in Omega 3 fatty acids.
Raw Walnuts: Walnuts Help Keep Arteries Clear
Most nuts contain a high concentration of healthy fat. Walnuts are composed of 47 percent polyunsaturated fatty acids, thought of as "good fats." But while most nuts contain polyunsaturated fatty acids, walnuts are the only ones with a significant amount of a certain type called alpha-linoleic acid. Alpha-linoleic acid acts as an anti-inflammatory agent and has actually been shown to help reduce plaque buildup in coronary arteries. Eating walnuts has been shown to improve cholesterol levels and the function of the small arteries and vessels within our bodies.my Consumption of walnuts reduced the level of apolipoprotein B, which is a strong genetic risk factor for coronary artery disease.
Dark Chocolate: It Helps to Lower Blood Pressure Naturally. Eating dark chocolate (which is 65% polyphenol-rich cocoa)
AND WELL IT TASTE GOOD!
