This is Joel.
Joel will be attending our celebration of the Chinese New Year (it's the Year of the Dog) on Friday, February 16th from 9AM to 5PM!
Joel would like to see you and your family and give you all pupper kisses to celebrate.
The Space & Rocket Center is an amazing place full of space history but also fun things to do like the G-Force, which spins you around super fast, and the Space Shot, which shoots you way in the air. Check out our blog for more info on places we love at @visitnorthal. (✨ @visitnorthal is taking over our account today to share North Alabama places they ❤️ ✨) #visitnorthal#itisrocketscience#spaceandrocketcenter#ihearthsv#thisisalabama#placeswelove ⠀
6th grade design technology, science, and math teamed up for their third annual interdisciplinary rocketry unit. In math, students learned how to measure angles and use a tangent table to calculate the length of the sides of a right triangle. Little did they know that this information would help them ultimately measure and calculate the height of a model rocket's flight. In science, students have been learning about the science of rockets and reviewing the scientific method, aka experimental cycle. They learned how to build model rockets which were assembled in design technology. The overall purpose of the grade wide investigation is to find out how the number of fins placed on model rockets affect flight. Hypotheses have been written, variables have been identified, important safety precautions have been assessed, Estes Viking model rockets have been creatively built and launched! A plethora of data was collected over the course of two launch days. The students are now busy calculating the speed and altitude of every rocket launched. Stay tuned for the results! #itisrocketscience#WEareCDS#WhereCaringisCommon
Hands down, the best part of my job is walking around the museum, hearing people of all ages, races, genders, creeds, sexual orientations, and walks of life go “WOWWWWW. THIS IS SO COOL”. #iagreekid#spacenerd#ussrc#itisrocketscience
