And just like that I blink and you’ve hit you’re sweet 6 month milestone!
I’ve been so quiet on here this week because I’ve had to surrender and admit that my body is failing me once again. It’s nearly 4 years to the day I was originally diagnosed with hypothyroidism, I’ve worked so hard to sculpt my lifestyle around it and now my body has taken a complete U-Turn and affecting my role as a Mumma 😥
. But don’t fear, I’m determined as ever, my little business is blossoming, I have so much goodness to look forward to this year and my little boy is amazing me more and more everyday! Let’s hope the doctors can nip it in the bud as quick as they did the first time! . If you are a thyroid fighter, or found pregnancy has reversed your diagnoses please PM me, mama wants the mystery solved so I can at least walk up the stairs with Colby in my arms!
HAPPY 6 MONTHS Colby-James 💙 I’m so madly in love with you x
Life got a it in the way yesterday ,but today I am back and I will continue from where I left of. So today we will have a look at fat-burning supplements, ketogenic diet and paleolithic diet.
Pros(reasoning): Creates a thermogenic effect in body.Supposed to boost the metabolism to burn body fat.
Cons: May cause illness-even heart attack , seizures and stroke. May cause arrhythmia, depression, nervousness or insomnia.
Pros(reasoning): High fat, moderate protein, low Carbs approach. Reduction in carbs reduces blood glucose, causing the body to undergo metabolism changes.Rise in the use of fatty acids from reserves in adipose tissue. Ketones easily used by various tissue as fuel.
Cons:increased fat intake and CHD risk. Increased protein turnover, kidney function and blood acidity. Calcium reduction in bones. Less suited to people with a history of kidney function problems.
Pros(reasoning): Founded on the principle that 99.9% of our genes were formed 10.000 years ago at the beginning of the Neolithic or agricultural era. Suggests that we are well-suited to this diet because this is what we evolved with. Recommends protein intake of approx 30%. Ideal omega 6 to omega 3 fatty acid ratio 1;1 ,up to possible ratio of 1;4. Greater percentage of monounsaturated fat and less saturated fat.
Cons: Lack of dairy produce and associated with poor calcium intake, which means it won't suit everyone.
So this is it for today and the diets. A day late , but tomorrow I will start explaining how to use nutrition in order to achieve your goals.
And of course a picture of a lion eating some meat because I could kill for a good peace of steak today. :)) See you again tomorrow! If you don't already like and follow my page please do in order to get access to the full nutrition series.
