Are you worried about the impact we have as climbers? Same here. That’s why the BCC has a board (aptly named the BCC Board), to put noggins and hearts together to protect the land we love. All this is to say: we’re accepting applications for new board members. Link in bio. Deadline is March 14, 2018. But you should apply now, you know, because #timeliness .
"Buck Above the Denver Skyline"
A group of whitetail deer were feeding on one of the promotories on North Table Mountain as we were exploring off-trail on a gorgeous January day. They heard us coming and this buck watched me taking photos before he took off down the side cliffs. It was awesome to see him so beautiful and strong in front of the skyline of downtown Denver, Colorado.
[Listen.... Turn it up.] As I scramble along exploring off-trail, traversing a slope at the mouth of Boulder Canyon, I hear it... a canyon wren; the first of the year. The leafless, monochrome cold winter ways with its birdcall-silence are suddenly cracked open by the warmth of His hormonal song. It lessens the low, mechanized drone of passing cars in the canyon depths 500-feet below... as it rightfully should.
Single-digit temps and snow are forecast for the morning, but it's a sunny 67° at this Moment. The potent cocktail of sun, warmth and mountain scene is getting the best of us as we both imbibe. His call is a licking flame of the coming season.
He's at the base (or within) that rock outcropping on the right, which He adamantly claims to be His cathedral. I accept His Word on that as I listen, standing on a sacred rock rim, a corniced ledge of my own cathedral as Sunday afternoon wanes into the holy dusk of a Colorado evening. Spring Cometh... Hallelujah! ;-]
Remember that big announcement I teased over the weekend?? Well here it is!! 📢🙋🏼♀️Megan Lee Photography is now OFFICIALLY offering wedding and engagement videography! Jake is joining our team, and even though he’s been on MY team for a while(hello, best husband ever💕) I’m SO excited to bring him on as our dedicated videographer and share in this journey together. I’d say he’s off to a pretty fantastic start, what do you think?
Yesterday a revisited a route that I haven’t ran in quite a while. On a Sunday morning this road is just very quiet. When the strong headwind was not blowing it provided a very pleasant running opportunity with great, clear views of the Front Range. What a contrast compared to the weather this morning!
I met a very nice lady while out climbing today. She goes by the name Lynn Hill. She has always been something of an inspiration to me. Take a peek at her list of accomplishments (Wikipedia has a short summary) and you'll see a very talented and dedicated individual. Particularly in the climbing community she is larger than life, and while I've heard tales of her laid back nature I didnt expect them to be so true. I never thought a person could manifest such a confidence, but also be so quiet and humble. I was so flustered by her easy vibes that by the act of trying to be normal, I made it really wierd. So if you know her, please extend my apologies for being an awkward fanboy. #climbing#coloradoclimbing#whyamiweird#frontrange
