#bach#bamberg#bambergersymphoniker
THE FUGUE...is a bit wobbly, but still ticking along in the wake of the recent Liszt Sonata obsession. But...where's the music? I'm not hearing it at all. It's important to remember that pianists are a unique combination of athlete and artist. We spend hundreds of hours in physical and mental training, building a solid framework on which to superimpose the art - the heart - express the inexpressible. I don't have the confidence yet with this one. Still in training. In search of #TheZone 😉🎹❤️

2018 Bach Week with Prof. Midori Goto
I had so many thoughts going on in my mind for the past week, but I’m finally done with the performance!!! Thank God😭
Thanks for the great opportunity and I want to thank everyone who supported and encouraged me a lot☺️😍
#100daysofpractice#day9 starting with #thefirsthour#A5 - the applied crab walk 🦀 which showed me just how uncomfortable I am with thumb position. Deceptively difficult. I will be keeping it in the rotation because I hate it and that is how we get better. Next, revisited the #bach#secondsuite#sarabande - I have a bad habit of not working on a piece/movement after performing it so I decided I should get back on the Sarabande train today. It’s one of my favorite movements of all the Bach Suites so I might as well enjoy getting the chance to work on it 😁 And finally, a plea for help! I have lots of weird pinkie finger habits and one in particular is really bothering me. So I talk about that and ask for help because I can’t stand watching these videos of my practicing and seeing my pinkie just misbehave. #cello#practicing#musicgram#baltimorecellists#413
MIDORI's BACH WEEK - Congratulations to our students at AZUSA PACIFIC UNIVERSITY for their successful performances!! MIDORI is so dedicated she came to EVERY concert. ( she even came straight from her concert tour to Turkey! )#midori#violin#bach#performance
#dounistips of the day is to round of your bow changes. It's especially important for passages at this tempo. Otherwise the sound will have a noticeable dead spot.
I am now almost entirely happy with my playing on Bach’s Chorale “Herzlich tut mich verlangen” BWV 727; the tune for the inestimable hymn, “O Sacred Head, Now Wounded”. This will be my prelude for tomorrow night’s Ash Wednesday service at my parish.
Day 3 of #100daysofpractice Worked a lot on the Allegro movement today of Bach's Sonata No. 2 in A minor. I worked it up comfortably under my fingers at about 68-70 (quarter note) BPM. Still have to work it up to 80 and it's fast! 🔥
#day21 of #100daysofpractice : physio helped and I'm no longer whimpering. 💊🏥 Hooray for healthcare and insurance! Had a video I wanted to post today cos it was kind of a special occasion but there's a whole story behind it, so tomorrow when I get it. In the meantime my new challenge - a Bach Fugue from one of his partitas. 🎻🎻🎻There's some markings which basically mean my fingers and bow don't get tangled 😵 and I'm just working on the first ten bars before moving forward. It's dense! Buon Park played a Bach Chaconne in concert and I was inspired enough to try one of my own, even if I may never play as beautifully as her. Also I may have engaged a new teacher! Watch this space. 🎶🎤💪🎻💚
Bach spent most of his time improvising ✒ and writing at an organ when he wasn't fathering 20 children (two different wives). Sounds like it was never a dull moment with that guy. Also he got his kids to transcribe his music so I can't help but think he was just trying to get out of transcription. It's what I would do. ✒🎹🎼🎶✒📒✒📖🎻🎺
