Looking forward to this fantastic program with my friend and curator extraordinaire @instagrahamelong! #theaccidentalpreservationist#Repost @charlestonmuseum (@get_repost)
It's that time again! Conversations with a Curator will take place this Friday, February 9 at 10:30 am. This month's topic: Hammered: Charleston Silver and Its Silversmiths with Chief Curator Grahame Long. As always, this program is included with regular admission to the Museum.
I'm soooo distracted - should be working on my 1877 dress & hat, but my daughter is due to have my granddaughter in 14 days!! 😀😀😀 Here are some "baby related" items from my collection to celebrate my anxiousness. These are sweet little Victorian sterling silver baby teethers. I offered them to my daughter when she had her first daughter...and she gave me "The Look". Lol lol (and that means no?)
As requested... Unger Bros Sterling “treasure” box. I love the original finger ring. It may or may not be attached as I design a necklace with it. Inside gold washed. Just love the dragon on her head and I do believe I saw a bird to the lower right!
Although we refer to this as an ice bucket it really is so much more; it can also be use to put dips or salads into. There are handles on each side and openwork throughout the body. In the center a cartouche awaits your monogram. The glass liner is removable making it easy to wash and clean after use. It also has a lovely starburst on the bottom. There are also 4 feet, lifting it up off the surface. #sterling#sassonsilver#estatesilver#antiques#antiquesterling#silvericebucket
Vintage handmade clay brooch and screw back earrings. Truly original and unique. The earrings do have a couple of chips..metal is also ahed. Still wearable and lovely! $10 plus ship. #izzysavailable#isnmemberitem#handmade
