Vietnam KIN #200
From the @kevin.german collection, which is now part of the KIN Archive
Is this your KIN?
Vietnam KIN aims to re-unite Vietnamese families living around the globe with these family photographs. Our goal is to return these personal artefacts to their rightful owners.
If you recognise anyone in these photos or think you might know something about their origin, please contact us at email@example.com.
Vietnam KIN was conceived by Neil Massey (Photographer) @iamneilmassey and Julia Massey (Documentary Director) @ladysnowblood74
Most of these photographs were bought in markets and antique shops in Saigon, where we lived and worked between 2009-2015. What continues to intrigue us about these photos is there portrayal of a time in Vietnamese history little documented by popular media. A time of relative calm, affluence and well-being, when people holidayed, went to weddings and went to have their portrait taken at the local photographer's studio.
Roses are red 🌹
Velvets are blue 💙
Sorry... I can’t keep this going, too cheesy haha. Must be about time for a wine surely, is it mid week yet? 🤪
When we were sourcing artwork for our latest campaign Sydney based artist @dinabroadhurst immediately came to mind. We’ve been long time fans of Dina’s work and knew her collage/photographic work would be a focal point of the collection. When we paired this Love Me Not print with our beautiful new silk velvet cushions, it was almost like married at first sight 😍😜
Okay I’ll stop now, def time for that wine 🍷 .
