This past year, I have traveled to at least eight states and two provinces. I feel grateful for a career that allows me to plant my feet in new soils, capture other's God given talents and work amongst selfless, hardworking women I now call family. Above all, I am overwhelmingly thankful for simple moments just like this - creating memories with loved ones in humbling places that feel like home. It is my sweetest gift. The thought truly brings me to tears.. If you haven't been following my adventures this weekend, I have decided to start a 365 Writing Project. For the next year, I will write down my experiences, thoughts and feelings every day. I have assigned myself this project for several reasons. First off, it is my best form of accountability. When I get too busy, I tend to make less time for myself and what makes me shine. More importantly, I feel ready for a new challenge. When I'm feeling inspired, I like to write about love. The words just come naturally to me. Can you blame me? I hunt and document love stories for a living, and my main squeeze takes me on romantic camping trips. However, I want more. I need to be challenged as an artist, as an optimist and as a young woman. I want to break down my journey in it's rarest, most raw form. You know, find beauty in every day. I ask you to join me.
I tend to sway.
And, by that, I mean in a poetic, yet chaotic kind of way.
Pirouetting in downstream currents.
Swallowing jumping fish.
But, somehow, all of this has brought me here.
Tell me, have you ever been rooted by a single moment?
Like, just now, your eyes meet mine and soft colors ripple into my smallest spaces.
I want to tell the world.
That I belong with you.
The jumping fish and I.
If there's such a thing as Photographers' Serendipity, this picture defines it, if I may be so bold to say: I woke up to catch a sunrise of Chambers Lake in Colorado and within seconds of setting up my camera, not one but two rainbows appeared. They allowed themselves to be photographed for about 20 seconds before disappearing. #serendipity#summer#sunrise#rainbow
